Assalamualaikum w.b.t
For
the second series of Outreach to Kampung Pahu (OPAH), our programme manager and
assistant programme manager were Ade Jobin and Syahirah Shamsudin respectively.
With the aim to build a mini library, we welcomed thirteen new OPAH family
members!
October 24, 2015 – Travelled with Malindo Air, this airline served us the most comfortable air trip compared to our previous flights. Touching down at the airport, we were welcomed by Hidayah Centre Foundation (HFC) representatives named Azwan Abdullah and Riduan Ramli. Then, we directly departed for a grocery to get everything we needed for our twenty five hampers we allocated for the villagers.
October
25, 2015 – As it was a
weekend, we had to organize our sporty activities earlier so that school
children could also join us as well. There were lots of fun activities
including aerobics, arm wrestling, tug of war and many more. In terms of
relationship, these games strengthen our ukhuwah with the villagers. For this
contest, each team of four contestants cook us two different types of Maggi
recipes.
October
26, 2015 – Early in the
morning, all of us were divided into two groups. One group of committees stayed
at the community hall so that they could help the hardworking uncles who have
been building our mini library from the very first day whereas the rest went to
Tok Imam’s farm with the objective to get to know how he runs his farm. Unlike
the previous series, we actually implemented what we have learnt so far from
him on how he organizes his garden.
October
27, 2015 – Before we had
our da’wah class on that night, we visited some families whose lives are poor
as church mice with the aim to donate some food and clothes we received for our
charity calls. As usual, Ridzuan Bahdishah led the class. He taught us with
details on how to manage a funeral based on Islamic teachings from the bathing,
the prayer to the burial. To add, he even asked each group to pick one kid to
be their ‘dead body’ and learnt a step-by-step process.
October
28, 2015 – For our closing
ceremony, we prepared a Rewang. Alhamdulillah, many aunties
voluntarily helped our three caterers – Aini Rashid, Amalina Rosli and Fatin
Nurddin – to serve the dinner for the whole village whereas the other
committees hectically prepared for the ceremony. In addition, some committees had
to paint the library because we were running out of time before it’s officiated
by Datuk Amisah Yassin on that night!
October
29, 2015 – Before we
departed for Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Bundu Tuhan where we facilitated
a motivational programme for school students, we committees were divided into
two teams as some committees had to be part of this slot in order to visit new
Muslims who live below the poverty line. After we finished our last programme
at the secondary school, Ustaz Azwan Abdullah brought ten of us to a woody
house where a mother of five kids is a new Muslim.
October 30, 2015 – For our educational visit, we planned to visit Desa Cattle
Dairy Farm this time because it was close back then during our first series.
It's an ideal destination for us where it offers an amazing scenery we could
envision. After performing Jumaat prayer at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), we
headed Pasar Filipina to buy some souvenirs before going to Tanjung Aru Beach
where we had our very last dinner before departing to the airport.
To
Ade Jobin and Syahirah Shamsuddin, good job! ALHAMDULILLAH, ALHAMDULILLAH and
ALHAMDULILLAH… OPAH Series 2 was a success as we managed to build the mini
library for the villagers.
